2 buttons and some Fabric!!!!!!!!! @ 2:34 PM
So while I was sitting in my Biology class this morning, I somehow or another thought of the idea of making my own earrings. I love to do crafts but with school, my daughter and designing for my schools Spring Fashion Show, I don't always have much much time to do any. After class, I decided to go to Michael's to get some supplies. I love to wear post or really large hoops, so I decided to get some post. Make sure you go online for coupons, or download the app for more savings before you go. I spent about 10 dollars total, but since I'm in this coupon stage of my life lol I ended up savings 2 dollars!
For this project you will need,
- A hot glue gun
- Backs for your earrings
- Posts
- Fabric
- Fabric scissors or regular ones are fine
- and 2 buttons nothing to heavy, the lighter the better
I went ahead and cut out my fabric in circles , a little larger than the button. The lace I cut kind of in a "V" shape. These shapes don't have to be perfect so don't be worried if they aren't.
Next, I hot glued the coral piece of fabric, to the green piece. This step again doesn't have to be perfectly centered, just try to get it centered!!
After I glued the coral piece of fabric to the green piece of fabric, I scrunched the pink lace and hot glued the end to the middle of the coral piece. I wanted the round part of the lace to stick out, but however your prefer is fine! Also you want the lace facing to the right side on your right ear, and to the left side on your left ear!
Now, I folded the fabric and hot glued the middle to the middle(if that makes since). Basically I hot glued the center to the area where I hot glued the end of the pink lace. Once it dries you should be able to open the sides and it should have a pinched look.
Lastly, I hot glued the button on top of the pinched fabric, and there you go your very own pair of earrings!!!
I almost forgot, you have to glue the post to the back of your earrings, but make sure you do it towards the tip, so the weight will be distributed evenly.
