DiY High waisted pencil skirt! @ 3:08 PM

I am so happy for this summer because skirts and dresses will be what I will be sporting the majority of the time! They of course are so comfortable, and since the trends these days are colors, colors, and more colors, I am even more excited to strut my stuff :).
I came across this skirt a few weeks ago that I absolutely fell in love with, and decided to go ahead and try to make it! The total cost including fabric and elastic was about 5-7 dollars. I made my skirt a little longer then the picture but I still used the stripe and color idea as posted. Let me know what you think :)

***I will have a complete look probably by the end of the week, so you can see how I dressed it up!!***

Easy and Quick way to remove makeup!!! @ 1:05 PM

Last week I was on vacation and completely forgot to bring my makeup remover. I was trying to figure out what would be the best possible solution and remembered when I was in college one of my roommates showed me an easy way to remove it.

All you need is some baby oil and a warm washcloth. Massage the baby oil onto your lid and rub it in until you notice all of your makeup has come off. Once your satisfied, wipe gently with a warm washcloth and your makeup should be completely removed. Don't use a lot of oil, but just enough to remove it. If you already knew this trick then fantastic, but for those who may not know, I hope this was pretty helpful for those days that you have either run out of remover or left it at home while traveling. :)

DIY Braided Hi Lo Top!! @ 12:47 PM

So I know it's been over a month since my last post, but I've been so busy with school and finally becoming a college graduate! Now that it's summer time I plan on doing blog post daily or close to it! With that said here comes the first DIY of the summer!!

What you will need
Sewing machine
New/old shirt or about a 1/2 of yard of fabric depending on your size
Scissors
Pins

First, cut off the sleeves  and collar band around your shirt. Since my shirt was pretty long, I also cut the bottom.

Next, fold your shirt in half and cut the front side at an angle. The higher you cut the shorter the front will be.
Now unfold the shirt and cut the remaining sleeves into a tank top. You can also leave the cap sleeves on the shirt whichever you prefer.

Gather one of the sleeves you cut in the beginning and cut one side all the way down so that you achieve a square piece. With that square piece, cut 6 separate slits.
Now you can braid the slits into two separate pieces and attach them with your pins to your shirt wherever you prefer. I chose to put mine right under the pocket that was already on the shirt. Also, make sure to match your braid with the side seams so it will be even across. After you attach them you can sew the braids on your shirt and you are FINISHED!

Great Baby Products!! @ 11:44 AM

I know this blog is primarily for fashion and beauty, but I thought I'd share some great products that I use for my baby. There are many baby products around, but not all of them are good for your little one. My daughter is only 6 months old, but I have tried all types of lotions, shampoo's, soaps, etc. and finally I have found what I think are the best ones on the shelves!

1.Soap and Shampoo
I received a lot of Johnson and Johnson's baby soap and shampoo for my baby shower and thought that I would be set for her whole first year. After using it for a month or two I noticed that her skin was beginning to get really dry. I realized I would need to try something different, so I bought the Aveeno Wash & Shampoo, and Wow it is great!! Her skin feels so so soft after baths and her hair isn't dry like it was with the other products. Definitely try this product on your baby, i'm sure you will fall in love after your first use.http://www.aveeno.com/babycare/product-home

2.Lotions
I also bought the Aveeno "Daily Moisture Lotion" for her body, and the Aveeno "Soothing Relief Moisture Cream" for her face, as an alternative to the Johnson and Johnson pink baby lotion. These products are also really really good to use. Her skin stays soft and neither one of the products is greasy, but has just enough moisture for her skin.http://www.aveeno.com/babycare/product-home

3.Hair
Her hair is really really curly so I was looking for a product that was safe for her hair first off, and used a lot of natural ingredients. Her hair routine consist of using water, 100% coconut oil, and It's a curl "Ring around the curlies" leave-in-conditioner. I bought the coconut oil from the hair store and the "It's a curl" I bought online from Curlmart. http://www.curlmart.com/brand/it-s-a-curl/?gclid=CKmHtpOmma8CFQfe4AodTy2rzw  I love this product so much. her curls look so nice, and its easy to comb through. If you have a baby with really curly hair, and need something to define the curls, this is the product to buy.I know she's only a baby and having a hair routine may sound silly to some, but you still want your baby to look nice going out, even their hair :).
Here are a few pictures of her hair with the leave in conditioner :)
